Trump administration has taken a big decision against immigrants on Tuesday when the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals(DACA) program has been rescinded. This program allowed minor immigrants to live in U.S.A. with a work and study permit.
The number of total immigrants of this category is 80,000 including nearly 6000 Indian. And now the lives of these immigrants was thrown into turmoil after this big decision.
In his election campaign, Trump had already pledged that he would end this immigrant law which was introduced by Obama administration for taking care of minor immigrants.
These young immigrants have come here illegally but other than this they have no criminal record and sympathetically they are often called as ”dreamer”. But now Trump administration cut the wings of their dream and announced a big decision against their lives and studies by rescinded of DACA program.
In his announcement at the Justice Department made even as hundreds of Dreamers and their supporters demonstrated in front of the White House and elsewhere, Sessions trashed President Obama’s executive order that gave life and hope to the 8,00,000 dreamers, calling it an “open-ended circumvention of immigration law through unconstitutional authority by the executive branch.” He said the program was unlikely to withstand legal scrutiny even as supporters of the program geared up to challenge the roll back in court.
