Income Tax raids at Congress minister’s Bengaluru resort where Gujrat Congress MLA’s were kept
In the series of I-T raids at several places in India at different political houses, a fresh raid was conducted at Karnataka’s minister DK Shivkumar’s resort Bengaluru where 44 Congress MLA’s from Gujrat were kept to minimalize the chances of any dealing with BJP.
DK Shivkumar is energy minister in Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah government. He along with his brother his brother D.K. Suresh, MP from Bengaluru rural, have been the target of the I-T raids. Searches were conducted at their Eagleton Golf Resort in Bengaluru and their houses in Sadashivnagar in Bengaluru.
Both are the caretaker of those 44 MLA’s of Gujrat Congress kept at their resort to be safe from BJP’s approach of bribes and misleads during Gujrat’s Rajya Sabha elections.
The I-T department, however, has issued a formal statement delinking the operations at the resort with the stay of the Gujarat MLAs. The statement said that the Karnataka Investigation Wing of the IT department was conducting searches in the case of “a Karnataka Minister and not concerned with the MLAs.”
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel has accused the BJP of being “on an unprecedented witch hunt just to win one Rajya Sabha seat ” in Gujarat in the August 8 poll.
